Support for Blogger and Wordpress - Monkiri supports the two most popular weblog softwares; Blogger and Wordpress. This means that users will also be able to snap and send posts to their Blogger or Wordpress blog.
User Friendly URLs – You can have user friendly blog URLs (i.e. http://blogname.monkiri.com).
Multiple Weblogs – You can create multiple weblogs (upto 5).
Templates - You can choose from any of the blog templates that have been included. Over 25 example templates are included and new templates are being regularly added.
WYSIWYG Composer - When writing entries, you can take advantage of the easy-to-use WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) entry composer. This allows you to add styles, fonts, colors, and images to your entries with no apriori knowledge of HTML. You can upload images and insert them in the entry you are working on with ease. Advanced users can click the HTML checkbox and view their entry's HTML source.
Preview Entry - You can preview your entries or comments before posting.
Instant Publishing - When you post entries or comments, they appear instantly on your blogs.
Draft Entries - You can post entries as drafts and publish them at a later time.
Comments - You can choose whether or not you want to allow comments on your entries. If you want comments to be included you can decide whose comments should be allowed.
Avatars - You can upload small photos of yourselves, which will appear on your blog, on your profile and also next to your username in search/browse results.
Create Categories – You can create categories to classify your entries
Template Editing - You can edit your blog template's HTML code to personalize your blogs.
Embed Media – You can embed media from external source like YouTube, Google Video in your entries. Simply copy the embed code from the external source then while writing entries paste it in the WYSIWYG composer in the HTML source mode.
Photo Albums - You can upload photos to your own photo album, which is linked from your blogs and your profiles. Photos can be given titles and descriptions, and thumbnails are automatically generated for easy browsing.
Podcasts - You can upload MP3 or other audio files to a special folder in your file manager. You can easily podcast these files by clicking a single link and writing a blog entry.
Other Files - You can create other file folders to upload and store files with other formats.
Podcasts - You can attach a Podcast URL to your entries.
Mailing Lists - You can create mailing lists for your blogs. This is a list of email addresses that are notified each time a new entry is posted.
Mobile Posts (Moblogging) - You can post new entries, including photos, from your mobile phones or with emails.
RSS Feeds - Each blog can have its own RSS feed for easy syndication.
Calendars - Your blogs can display calendars illustrating when you had posted the entries.
Archives - Each blog has an archive page that lists the dates of all the entries that belong to the blog.
Permanent Links - Each entry has a permanent link, which is important for bookmarking and search engine indexing.
Multi-author - When you create a blog, you are the "owner" of that blog. You as a blog owner can invite other users to be co-authors your blogs. You can add co-authors with the ability to modify the template, change the blog settings, etc., as well as basic co-authors who can only post entries.
Search Users - You can search for other users based on their profile information.
Friendships - You can list others as friends, and display their lists on your profile. You can also give your friends special privileges, like access to your private blogs.
Private Messages - You can send others private messages, which they can read from their message inbox.
Friends Page - Your blogs can include a "friends' recent entries" page, which displays the recent blog entries posted by your friends.
Send Pings – You can send pings to weblog indexing services. This is a great way to attract new visitors to your weblog.
IP Banning - You can ban certain visitors from viewing your weblog, based on their IP addresses.
Timezones - You can select your own timezone, and all dates across the system will reflect it.
Support - Several support pages are included, such as a template editing guide, FAQ page, and a contact form.
